An innovative competition which would champion entrepreneurs, early technology titans and agents of social change – Chivas Venture. An agency that would procure culturally relevant hosts and judges able to engage large crowds of influencers – ITB.

Pernod Ricard wanted its Chivas Regal brand to speak to a wider audience and create opportunities that gave back to communities and industry, so in 2014 the nearly 200-year-old Scotch whisky created the Chivas Venture, an annual competition for tech entrepreneurs seeking social change. A live event on a global stage, five finalists pitch ideas and compete for $1 million to fund a small, innovative business.

ITB helped Chivas reach its awareness and influence goals by procuring a celebrity host and judges for the competition who possess global resonance, a passion for social entrepreneurship and other values aligned with the Chivas and Venture brands.

Our Approach

ITB raises a glass to tackling the world’s biggest social and environmental issues.

ITB secured a host for each annual event—including James Corden, Trevor Noah, Josh Gad and Richard Ayoade—who were culturally relevant, able to engage large crowds and strengthen Chivas’ connection to loyal drinkers while opening doors to new ones. Our celebrity judges included Adrian Grenier, Eva Longoria, Halle Berry and will.i.am.

Now in its fourth year, the Chivas Venture has received over 8,000 applications. Since the competition began, Chivas-supported startups have cut over 60 million tons of CO2, recycled 13,000 tons of waste and saved 8 million trees and 1 million honeybee colonies. They’ve funded 75,000 days of education for women and girls, 24 million liters of clean drinking water and safe energy for 23,000 households.
